If you have been referred by a GP or a psychiatrist who has prepared a Mental Health Treatment Plan for you, you are eligible for a Medicare rebate of $137.05 per session. This is valid for up to ten sessions per calendar year. This leaves a gap payment of $52.95 per fifty-minute session, after the Medicare rebate. This referral must be obtained prior to your first therapy session and brought along with you to your initial appointment.
